We got a new fireplace insert and I have these doors. Would you Craigslist them? I hate to just throw them away? Someone offered me $20 for them.

It may be worth more than that in scrap.

I was kind of thinking about that. I'm not sure about finding the scrap value, but I'll check into it.

If you have kids or grandkids, you could make a puppet stage for them.
Take out the glass and the build the stage to look like a grand ol stage from the 20's or 30's (using the frame)

Or just put it on CL lol

(being somewhat in the scrap loop, not much value in that, as it goes by weight.  Unless that is copper or solid brass, a scrap yard is not the best return.  CL would be better (someone would has a FP at a cottage or something would give a 40-50 fo it.

There is a place that pays for scrap, but it might not be worth it. It's brass, but I might have to take out the glass, etc. It's not a big deal, I knew though that I didn't want to just throw it away. The $20 offer came from CL.  lol  I might just take it!

CL  Them. Or paint them  black (heat resistant paint) and sell them for $100 on since black is this year's choice of fireplace doors (sorry, too much DIY network lately)
