Post by: on May 09, 2002, 09:41:40 pm
Hi, I recently purchased a Cavalier CSS-96g.  When I plug the machine in it seems electrically to be working but the fan never comes on or does not get cold?     I cleaned the unit of debree and tried spinnig the fan while it was on.  If you could help me that would be so great!
Thank you

Which fan are you talking about? the one in the soda cabinet, or the one next to the compressor? and when you say it's running OK do you mean it accepts coins and give you a soda?
is the compressor running OK? more info please!!! ???

Ok, I think I found my problem but can't find a solution. :(   The fan inside the unit is full of glass.  I tried getting as much of it out but there still is alot left.  I need to remove all of that glass to let the fan spin freely, but grrr cant really get to it because it is covered.

Help!!!!

As johnieG asked... Is it the fan in the vending compartment?
I'll go on the assumption that this is wher  the problem lies...  You're best bets is to removed the screws that hold the evaporator and carefully lift it or move it so you can gain better access to remove the broken glass.  Just be very careful not to kink the refrigerant lines.
If after the glass has been removed and you still don't see the fan spinning, you'll have to remove the fan itself and test it and/or replace it.  Having the blades jammed may have damaged the fan while attempting to spin...

slowly but surely I was able to get almost all of the glass in the air conditioner.  Once the fan was able to move freely I turned the machine on and the fan blew little pieces of glass out.  Now it is working great!!  So end of story is just take your time, be careful and it will all work out in the end.

Thanks sigh
