Should the decals on an 81D be put under the CC or on top? Thanks!

If it's a water-release decal it should handle the clear coat well, but some vinyl cheap (thin) decals can react with the urethane enamel & soften & blister...now that I scared you ,  "I just wanted to say good luck & we're all counting on you"  ...(Airplane)

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.

Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor

Oh & while we're on the subject of clear coats, note that rustoleum's hammertone paint & clear coat don't mix! ( bad personal experience!) the part of the hammer tone that forms the "texture" softens & lifts right out of the base coat & wrinkles like a moldy orange skin! what a mess!

I'm glad I tested it on a coinbox first & not the whole liner!

My experience with rustoleum products are they do not mix with "any" other brand of clear coats. I too founf=d this out the hard way a couple of times. The only rustoleum product that I use is Hammertone.

Water release, under, vinyl, over.  I went with 4 coates of clear on my Cavalier 96 and you can not even feel the decals under the clear.  Thats my reccomendation.
