Title: Coinco 9300S Coin Tuning
Post by: dr galaga on September 26, 2009, 11:16:31 am
I have a Coinco 9300S that I would like to have accept the same tokens that I use for my games.  The tokens are .984 and are a hair bigger than a quarter.  Can I just run the tokens through and the changer will know they are quarters, or do I have to run the nickels, then dimes, then quarters (tokens)?  The instructions seem to indicate that it doesn't matter which denomination you do first.  Is it really that smart? Anyone tune a 9300S before?

I think you would have to somehow trick the mech into thinking that there is change in the change tube. The mech should reject quarters (or tokens in your case) when there are no nickels in the change tube. This could be as simple as removing the quarter blockout arm from the CREM, but I am not too verse in electric mechs.
One other issue may be to slightly adjust the quarter cradle on the rejector so the tokens work smoothly.
