Brian B
I will be restoring the ugly Motts machine.  I hope to make it a little more pleasing to the eye.  I will be doing a root beer theme.  Don't worry Curtis, I will not be stealing your Frosty design.
As for those of you that cant seem to "shake shake shake" the 70s, I feel sorry for you.  Sure we all love KC and the Sunshine Band, but can you name me one vending machine that came out of that era that looks good in a game room?

ps  Disco balls don't accept quarters.

I was born in the 60s and grew up with far too much polyester and lime green leisure suits.  I will take a black and white checkerd floors over orange carpeting anytime.  As for music, I urge you  rent American Grafitti and listen to the sound tract.  I rest my case.  Sorry to all you beatles fans.  In the immortal words of John Milner:
"Turn off the surfin sh---, music hasn't been the same ever since Buddy Holly died".

I have to start work on my Seeburg 100c. For some reason it still sounds a little sweeter then my old eight track player.

Wonder Woman... I'll have to do some digging for art..... I'll see what I can do....
Do a Lichenstein Pop Art Pop Machine?....Hmmmm could be cool...

Eric

And Jim don't forget the dark wood stressed tables with a pair of half barrel black leather studded
edged chairs then you can sit back and eat a little bag of pop rocks and Freakies ceral and
stare at those great blacklight posters of tigers and bull fighters..... Ahhh the 70s!
But Hey!!!! Come on...
The Mamas & the Papas wasn't bad and there was also CCR
and the Eagles!
And the 70s defenantly would have been the time for us to be driving around picking up these round
tops for next to nothing! But I was a pre-teen/teen and a soda machine was the last thing
on my mind....

Where would I go about getting larhe UNIQUE decals made that could be transferred?  Say if I have an image that I would want done up?  I have ZERO artist flair so painting is out but I could put together some images if someone would be ablr to turn it into a decal or transfer.  Thanks!

The art work isn't a problem it's being made into a decal.... seems most are just big digital
images (real grainy looking) I can't seem to find anyone (yet) that could make more of a
silkscreen/spot color decal... probably gonna be high $$$$$. Anyone out there know of a
decal maker?.... Who does the decals that sodaworks and Funtronics sells?...
I'm working on the front view bottle cap in between work and kids right now...  Work has gotten busy.
(Wouldn't you know the job gets in the way of the hobby....hate that... but... it does
help pay for the hobby and put food on the table....so....)
Anyway... if anyone knows of a decal place let me know..... lets get something worked out.

Yea the places I've checked with aren't real interested and can't give a firm quote. When things slow a bit workwise here going to try some things on a friends photo grade printer.

Another thing about these decals is license...
Personally if it's just ones and twos of these things and it for restoration
of a personal machine I can't see any trouble... We're all painting Coke
and Pepsi stuff and vinyl lettering Have a Coke on the side. But I bet to get cost down
you'd have to make several... then what do you do with a 100 decals you can't sell?....
There are brands out there that are Public Domain... need no license such as AAA Rootbeer....
I have a license with Nesbitt's and Nu-Grape... Our license with Dr Pepper/7up is about up...
And I don't know if it's worth renewing just for decals.....
Does anyone else here have a license with a Soda brand?....
That was BITW problem with their decals.... No license to sell but I can't see why
they couldn't use them to restore... say a Pepsi machine, with a Pepsi decal?
Again somebody PM me before I get to much time into these things...

OK OK the guy called and said no one wanted it so I coughed up $50 for it.  It seems to actually be in really good shape now that the 400lbs of dirt is out of the bottom.  According to all the tags this is the actual information.

Sales Model: 4D56A
MFG# 01C7020ZA
Vendo Co, Kansa City, MO
115V, 60cycle, 4.6amps
Pepsi Cola Tag 3288

This machine is differnt than the thread from the first page in that it vends bottles.  I checked once I McGyvered the lock and it will hold 12oz bottles.  The coin mechanism is a type of gravity one in that once the Quarter is dropped it sits in place while the bottle is pulled then it allows the release to let the bottle slide through.  I have no complaints except that as in the thread this front panel will be the most fun to remove with the insulation having been injected.  Good thing the AZ heat has completely dried it out so the two SHOULD separate easily.
