Eric,
Very happy to come home from a long weekend and see a successfull conclusion to this ongoing quest!!! Harltenb is spot on.

They didn't even come back and say "thinkin $1000 would be better" The seller is satisfied and you now have a great machine. Nothing wrong with that.

In today's world, looking out for and knowing the neighbors is important. Help them out with real world tasks when/if you can.

I did look up John 3:16 (web search) Can't see how it applies in this instance but that's just my take.

Think H.L. Mencken said "Religion and Political discussions only end up in fights, avoid all three". Too tired to look up the exact quote. Anywho great score and keep us posted!!

Hello

Just an idea! When you get it fixed (cleaned, waxed, running & operational) fill the machine with drinks and take some pictures. Then take the pictures over to the father & son to show them that their machine is in a place of honor in your basement.

Eric, what you have is more than religion it is humanity for the people you share this world with and it's comforting to know that i know of people like you and i wish there was more, you did right and proper by those people now go and make that machine shine.

Eric,
Without the plate can't tell what year. Even with it I'm not so sure. According to the decoder info the year was the first digit of the serial number. Mine starts with a 7 but most sources say the 56 was only made 58-59. Who knows.

You can get blank plates. If you decide to go that route let me know and I'll send you the info stamped on mine.

Looking forward to the pics!

You might find a date stamp while disassembling the machine...

There are always plenty of opportunities to minister to others.  You have met two people you wouldn't have if it weren't for this machine and your interest in it.  I believe that may have been the "open door" God provided for you to share your faith.  We cannot comprehend Him or His way, but they are truly miraculous.

You may have a good friendship starting all because of the machine. Maybe the "Easter" find was in the cards from the beginning. Could be Devine intervention. Who knows. There's a purpose in all things.

Enjoy and please post lots of pics!!!!
