In my Choice Vend, in the lower compartment, to the right of the compressor deck, I have a black terminal which I believe is where the power cord plugs into the machine. On that same terminal above the power cord, there is a short loop of stiff wire covered in red insulation-the wire appears to be at least 1/8" thick.

The wiring diagram seems to indicate this is some sort of jumper for the defrost system, but I'm not sure. The ends of the loop make a plug.

When the machine is operating normally, should this jumper be plugged in? What's it for?

Thanks.

It's been a while since I sold my Choicevend, but as I recall, the jumper should remain connected, & only removed to plug in the optional defrost option, if it doesn't have one , don't "sweat it" (bad pun)  ':p'
