What type of insulation should I use if I want to remove the old and put in new?  Any things I should look out for or plan for or is it as easy as removing the plastic and replacing the old layer?  It's a Vendo 90A.  Thanks.

Hello,

I am in the process of re-insulating a Vendo 63 I purchased off e-Bay and had wet insulation (thanks to a blocked drain) inside the cabinet. I removed the liner and had a new bottom pan fabricated. Now I am ready to insulate from scratch.
I talked to several people - including Fun-Tronics - and they all advised unfaced Owens-Corning pink.
I selected R-19, 6-inch thick unfaced, specifically. The higher R-numbers are so thick it would be difficult. I think, to squeeze it into the cabinet. The job is much easier if you remove the liner and that is not as horrifying as it sounds. If I have recommended the wrong stuff, I'm sure someone will let me/you know.
