Title: Vendo 39 coin mech
Post by: Hrdestiny on December 15, 2016, 08:28:17 am
I just recently acquired a Vendo 39 that has a 10 cent sticker on it.  If you insert a dime it will not take it.  I decided to try a nickel. It takes the nickel but will not vend.  If you insert a second nickel it will vend.  Ive had several different 39's but never a 10 cent machine that takes two nickels.  Is this normal or is there something wrong?  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Are the dimes dropping through to the mechanism, or rejecting?
Clean your rejector really well, especially on the dime track.

I have cleaned and scrubbed on this thing like crazy and it will not accept a dime. Nickels are accepted every time. Could this be a nickel only mech? If so how can I tell if it is? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can't tell without some photo's . Lacking same yes most likely a 5 cent x2 to vend on a 10 cents. Not common but out there.

You could send it to the Coin Drop Shop in Arizona. 602 908-7202.

Tom will either fix it or take it as a trade-in for one that works.

Here are pics of it. Hopefully someone can tell me exactly what I have. It was on a vendo 39 that has stickers that say iinsert dime to vend. Dimes will not work but 2 nickels will work.  Dimes go directly to rejector. Thanks for the help.

I suggest setting the mech up for free vend and not worrying about this.

You have the proper rejector.  Set it on a level surface and drop in a dime.
Looking at it from your picture #2 you will see where the coin is getting stuck.
Remove screws and spring as necessary and clean that coin path.

(And in reply to your older post, I have a pretty clean VMC 110 cabinet that I don't need)

Thanks MoonDawg Ill give it a shot and see what happens.  When your looking at the second pic the dime stops in the area to the right where the large hole is.  Where if you push the rejector lever on top it will fall out.

Thanks for all the replies guys. After looking at it and adjusting a couple of things I now have a working rejector.  Thanks so much for all the info.

Thanks for sharing that on here cohammer.  I was fortunate enough that my problem ended up being very minor and I was able to fix it myself.
