Title: V-81 Liner Angle
Post by: vendo39 on June 02, 2010, 09:07:33 am
I can’t remember how the part the service manual calls the “Liner Angle” (part #19 in the manual) goes back into the door. It’s just a 10 ½ inch piece of angle iron with a small lip or channel on one side and three screws.  I think it must support the actuator arm on the inside of the door.

Looking at the picture in the manual, it looks like it should perhaps screw to the back of the liner but there are not any holes for it in  my new liner.  Unfortunately, the old liner is long gone so I don’t have a reference. Can anyone help me with details on how this part should be installed?

Thanks

Brian

I spoke to a friend who does restorations for a living and he said the part I was talking about was just a bracket to keep the arm from falling down inside the door if you pulled the coin mech.  He said it doesn’t really do anything functional and most people are leaving it out because the new liner doesn’t have the holes already predrilled.  Does that sound right to anyone?

Thanks
