Hi,
Someone gave me this cool cooler. On the side it says 1955. I don't know if that's it's date or note, but it's embossed there.

Anyway it is in really good shape except for a couple of places. It is structually sound as we have used it already. It even has the tray in the top still. And the drain cap is intact.

#1; it has this rusted out spot on the bottom.
#2; it has a dent in the side.

Is there a way to fix these things, without spending a mint, and if so..how?
Thanks!

It would be cheaper to replace the cooler than to have that one restored.

I don't want to "restore" it to new condition.
I really just want to repair that rusted out spot.

To replace the rusted metal or to fill in with filler or fiberglass, It would still be cheaper and more practical to find a replacement. To fix the rust you would almost need to restore the entire unit.
