Title: 1946 VENDO BROCHURE ?
Post by: toolbox on June 21, 2013, 12:17:01 pm
Hey guys and dolls – I’ve read about a 1946 Vendo advertisement or brochure but I’ve never seen one. It may list a V-17 and a V-59 Top and basket assemblies. Could somebody post a copy, it would really help the research.
Thanks and have a good one.
Ted

Ted,
I don't have any info on the V-17 but you can review a brochure image...

Vendo V-17 (http://soda-machines.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=534&Itemid=14)

Hopefully helpful...

Wow it didn't hold much just 17 bottles? So was this a machine that was purchased and the owner refilled it an kept the money?

I believe Vendo Supplied the "Spin Top" portion ( V-17) as far as the box it was a Cavalier Office Cooler FD-2?

You got it Slapshot. In 1946 Cavalier made and sold their FD-2 small cooler. It was later known as the ‘Office Dry Cooler’. Vendo apparently manufactured the V-17 Top and basket assemblies for the bottling companies to mount in the field.
In 1949 Cavalier changed it to their C-27 with their own vending mechanism.

I have yet to see any Vendo published information on the V-17.

Have a good one.

Due to the small amount produced and rarity I doubt you ever will!
