Picked up a few cool things this past week between one auction and one Craigslist stop.   Pictures coming.

Mills I "think" 1930's porcelain scale.  The bad thing is I figured out I am very overweight according to the sign!!!

Last but not least my favorite one a Walzer Hershey table top vendor I think from the 1930's.  Appears to be all there with the key and the original advertising insert.

Very nice scores! Where was the auction held? Looks like a collection/estate sale?

Thanks Johnny.  The auction was in Ramsuer, NC.   They run regular antique auctions, but then have a 2-day country store auction twice a year.  They always have some nice stuff, but really have some good stuff on the 2-day auctions.

I picked up one of those penny candy machines off Craigslist a couple years ago too.  Neat little machines.  Now I just need to find the antique slot machine to go with it.

I agree neat little machines.  I hope mine cleans up like yours.  Did you ever look for something to stock it with?

would those mini candy bars that Hersey makes fit? I think they sell all the time but are big at Halloween. Cool stuff for sure! Great buys! Congrats! :happydrinkers:

If you want to stock it, it depends on what you are trying to accomplish.  If you want it to just look good then the mini-hershey bars work great.  The ones with the 4 little squares, not the bite size ones. Pics of both below for reference. The problem with the minis is that the candy is the perfect width but the wrapper extends beyond the length of the bar.  When you load the machine up with candy the bars stack up on top of each other.  When you put a penny in and pull the lever, the vendor pushes the bottom piece out and all the rest drop down one spot.   The candy bar is supposed to drop down a shoot at the back of the machine and come out the hole on the bottom.  But when the bar gets pushed into the shoot, the flaps of the wrapper flip out making it too wide for the shoot and it gets stuck inside.  You can tape them down and it will work better but that it kind of a pain. The bite size are too narrow and don't look good in the display window.

Thanks Bryan.  I actually used the 4 square ones and cut the sides down just a bit and "most" of the time they work.  It does not stock a lot of candy anyway so it works good enough.
