Title: Charge amount
Post by: on May 13, 2002, 08:49:15 pm
I would like to know much should I charge my refridgeration system that I have for my WE-6 coke cooler.  The label I have is scratched out and I can't read it. Part of the label has on it N-25-CC, which is the type of system I believe.  Thank you for the replies!

Check for another tag on the base of the compressor (deck)
it should also have the charge info on it. my WD12 has 10 oz
of F-12 although these models are nearly identical check to be sure,  when mines running, the low-side pressure's @ about 25-28 psi (assuming you've got a port to check it and a gauge set for Freon 12.) :)

Hey Checker,

Jonnie is right. Generly these units will hold 8 - 12 oz. depending on what freon you use and the size of unit. Jonnie, when you say 25-28 psi, are you checking on a warm box? This seems a little high for a cold box at temperature and is yours a "wet" box as well? I,d like to know for future info.

Thanks,
Eric

Yes, that reading I gave is for a "warm" box (one thats just been turned on and has not fully cycled & gotten down to the set temp.) mine is a dry chest, the "cold box" pressure I'm seeing is around 18psi F12 @ aprox. 70deg.F ambient temp. the wet box type coolers seem to run a little higher 20-22psi..thanks
