Title: 1952 v-39
Post by: cohammer on March 20, 2014, 07:14:52 pm
Have my  39 all painted and put back together. here is the cooling unit  , it cools and runs fine so would you go Thur the electrial rewire , clean it up and reinstall or would you put in a newer unit.

I would rewire and leave it as is.

Sound like a good plan , I just like the look of the original as long as its running.

For the price of $20 tops you could spend an afternoon painting it since it's already out just a thought...I think you will enjoy the inside when it's nice clean especially with a  new exterior finish.

Re- wiring and replacing the fan motors ans fans blades is never a bad thing to do.  It cost more, but it prevents future problems down the road.  Once that compressor is back in it's not fun having to remove it for a $30 fan motor that decided to go bad...

I did clean up the skid unit as best as possible and rewired . Not perfect but a lot cleaner.

Nice, I like the blue on the compressor, it's different without being overstated.

That compressor was a dark shade of blue but I got as close as I could at the auto parts store.
