I picked up one of the Handy Candy 5c vendors at the local vintage show I am doing today, it is NOS with the packing cardboard on the inside.  The seller found 10 of them at a family members house, some are still in sealed packages.  Anybody interested in them, $100 each, might be able to get a bulk discount.  I am willing to ship as well.

I will take one. NOS and keys? sounds good.

Shouldn't cost too much to ship one to NJ. Thanks for doing this.

PM sent as well.

Ditto.  I can always make room for another.  The one at the auction site is a little rough on top.  I'm in if it is as nice as yours.

Well, all are spoken for now, turns out she only had 6, not the 10 thought (it was her friend selling them).  Sorry to those I couldn't get one to that responded, I wish there were more to go around.

That being said, pretty cool finds, they were found in a hoarders house in a big box full of smaller sealed boxes.  They were going to be thrown out then the girl I got them from decided to look inside the boxes instead.  Nice surprise, they are packaged in newsprint from 1948 in Cleveland, so that makes it real easy to date them.  The interior and exterior are mint, packing cardboard, assembly instructions, and keys all included in the box.

Here's a quick video I took of it, no candy bars in the pantry so I went with granola bars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqECBr8R6ts

Well it is too late to get any, but I have to say what a nice thing that was to do for fellow members.  I am reminded all the time why this site is so great.

Here's a couple more photos of it in the box, makes it pretty easy to date them when there's newspaper in the box.

Does that backplate have holes so it could be mounted to the wall?

Just curious?

Yep, there are three holes for screws, they bump out about 1/8" to hold it slightly off the wall

Similar to Dave I was taking a break from housework. When I "got caught" I said "look honey I did some shopping for you". Smiley
