Great job, I like the Dr Pepper Green.  A very nice job I am sure there was a lot of time spent on the machine but it all paid off with a great looking slider...

Looks great Buddy!

I've got a couple different chrome bezels that were made for the Ideal 35 coin mech. They are the 1/2 camel hump, and full camel hump.  You could try them and see if either will cover the coin slot hole and allow a coin to drop in it (not sure if the mech is there to function, or just for looks).

I doubt that it was originally a SS plate, but that will suffice nicely until you can figure it out. I would bet the farm that it had some sort of pot metal bezel on there originally.

      Very nice and careful attention to detail, I like it!  

      It's not your usual slider. For that reason, I like your capcatcher matching the machine.

      Painting it black would make it look a little too similar to an Ideal.

      I have a coin bezel from the coin box off an old Kiddie ride.
I don't know if it would even cover the hole,  also the coin rolls forward so it would miss your coin slot. Something else will come up.

I was able to find a couple of patents from the Sloyer's, looks like they cover the vending mechanisms of this slider, but no pics of the coin entry

Great detective work tkaz! It looks like what I was originally thinking - some type of coin chute. Looks to be a vertical one instead on the ones that roll down.
