Mod # of my machine shows 1USS-96101. What is a USS-12-96? Older or newer? Having trouble finding a service manual.

USS is a bottle/can vendor. It will have a rocker to dispense product. A CSS uses a yoke and only will vend bottles. The 96 refers to amount of product that can be loaded. Best I can tell the 12 means 12oz.
Post a pic and then we can be sure. Cav's are very well built, a manual may not be required. What is it doing or not?

Also what is the difference in the mod CS-96 compared to the USS-96?

Thanks Creighton. Makes sense when somebody explains. Just bought the machine and believe there's a short somewhere. Turn on compressor and breaker blows. Keep thermostat off and has power and a fan blows. Posted on the refrig forum and was told overload protector looked burnt.

I could very well be wrong, Josh and others will correct if so but think the CS is a roundtop where CSS is square top.

I thought the twelve referred to how many shelves the machine had...  I have been curious as to what the twelve meant as well.

I'll bet you are right CoolCat. Mine is USS-8-64 with eight shelves.
Thanks!

Guys,

If I'm not mistaken,

CS is the bottle, round corner, forked gate.

CSS is square corner, bottle, forked gate.

USS is square corner, twist knob, bottle or can.

I think that's how it goes.
