Title: Compressor fan?
Post by: on March 10, 2002, 07:30:53 pm
Here is a question concerning my new V-63. It cooled down to 36 degrees, but was in the 50's in my garage. The coils got frosty, but it seemly got hot below. It ran it for an hour and a half and I don't think the compressor fan kicked on. I feel like an idiot asking, but the fan should have come on right?
Thanks for any input.
Tim

After moving your machine, some times the shroud moves against the fan motor obstructing it's ability to spin and cool. Make sure that's not the case. Make sure that it's clear. If it is and the machine is powered up, help by giving it a spin. If that does help then check to see if there is power to the fan. motor. If there is then order a fan. You can check the power to the fan by taking the cord and sticking your tounge on it ( Just kidding!;) Really check and see if there is power going to your fan. If not................Experts step in here.

I followed your suggestions and guess what I found. Several folded pieces of cardboard in the fan housing. No wonder it got hot. I can't believe that a fire didn't start. Thank goodness, boy am I lucky!
