Title: Dirty v-39 coin mech
Post by: davethebirdman on November 15, 2005, 10:40:19 am
Right first off let me say that I have not gone mad or taken to smoking some of that strange tobbacy.

On a Jukebox forum sometime ago I am sure there was a topic around the cleaning of coin mechs. One suggestion was to place it in the dishwasher and run it through the hot cycle.

Has anyone ever tried this. Am I mad. Your suggestions plse...

Dave

Dave you may be mad but your question isn't going to prove or disprove :D .  There have been several posts here about putting the mechanics in a boiling pot of water.  The electronics obviously take a little more care but dunk away with the mechanincals.

That has been stated here several times.  It will not hurt the slug rejector.

Soak it over night in laquer thinner and run it through the dish washer, I also take apart the slug rejector so that I can clean the coin path with 000 steel wool and lube with powdered graphite. :)
