Right first off let me say that I have not gone mad or taken to smoking some of that strange tobbacy.
On a Jukebox forum sometime ago I am sure there was a topic around the cleaning of coin mechs. One suggestion was to place it in the dishwasher and run it through the hot cycle.
Has anyone ever tried this. Am I mad. Your suggestions plse...

Dave you may be mad but your question isn't going to prove or disprove 
. There have been several posts here about putting the mechanics in a boiling pot of water. The electronics obviously take a little more care but dunk away with the mechanincals.

Soak it over night in laquer thinner and run it through the dish washer, I also take apart the slug rejector so that I can clean the coin path with 000 steel wool and lube with powdered graphite.
