Bought a narrow Lance snack machine. 5 Cents. Dated 1961. 3 columns for cookies, and one for peanuts. The 6 pack of Lance cookies made today do not fit. Too wide. The small packs of peanuts might work.

Any suggestions what to stock it with?

Hello Jim,

Not sure about products that fit but would be interested in seeing the machine...

It's made by Vendo. Didn't know they made snack machines too.

Looks like individual Reeses Peanut Butter cups might fit or small candy bars. Will experiment.

I think before we were diagnosed as an overweight nation, the snack crackers used to come in a four pack intead of a six or eight as they do now.  If you look in some grocery stores you can occasionally still find a six pack of the smaller 4 packs of crackers.  I think those fit this...........

Hello the square pack of crackers were used in that machine which they do not make any longer since the late 60's . I have a pic of machine somewhere in my lance  collection . I will Try to send you one when I can. You probably can get other stuff to work.

I have the exact same machine.  The larger slot on the right will dispense packs of peanuts.  The other slots are made to dispense the cube pack that was made up until 1965.  The four packs they make now will work with a little motification. PM me and I can expalain how to do it.  Did your machine come with the weights that push the product down?

ok, hope this will make sense. Pictures and video to follow.  The lager opening will dispense Lance small packs of peanuts just fine with no modification.  The other slots were made to dispense the cube packs that were made in the 60's.  You can now use the four packs that are available but you first have to make the slots more narrow with a piece of sheet metal fitted into each slot. If you cut the width just wider than the opening and bend it slightly so it is snug enough to be a pressure fit.  The crackers should be snug enough to the front of the slot but loose enough to fall freely when loaded and dispensed.  Notice in the pictures that the piece you insert does not go all the way down. The opening has to be just right so that the crackers will fall into the slot when you vend them. Lots of trial and error on the adjustment but once you have it in the right spot it works great. Best of all they can be removed without effecting the originality of the machine.

Here are the pictures. There are links to two youtube videos below the pictures.

Let me know when you get it working. I guess you noticed you have to give the handle another half push. At that point it is locked so it wont dispense two so its really not a problem.
