Title: Worlds Fair Popcorn Machine...Found
Post by: Poptop on October 12, 2009, 07:24:19 pm
Today I stopped in the hardward supply store and they had this inside on display....

They say it works great...and may consider selling it.  They say is was at the 1939 New York
Worlds Fair.

Any thoughts on value???

Don't believe them if they tell you crap like that. It's just one of many that was sold after the 1939 World's Fair Debut. Just because it says 1939 on it doesn't mean it was made in 1939. The same goes for patent dates. Patent dates are just the date that the patent was processed and completed. It's too big to be practical. You would need to have a party every time you popped a batch of corn. If you have a very public business you could buy it and give away popcorn everyday and charge it off to the business. It's just not very economical for a residence.

I agree with oscar, you'd be popping ALOT of popcorn in each batch and not practical for home use.. save your money for a popperette or U Pop it machine if your looking for something for home use.. but it's your choice.. if you have room for it and like it , that is great... but don't look for good resale on it..
Looks alot like the old Manley Popcorn machines...
