What is this? It looks like a V-56 without the crank.

Yep its a transitional machine. They were made in crank and non crank versions. The crank models are worth more but the electric versions are still awesome machines. The 7up models are usually embossed but the embossing is at the bottom of the door.

Thats a good question...  I have a transitional 81 with the electric changer, its embossed with the 7up at the top.  Still works but needs restored.  Just wondering if its worth spending the money to have someone more qualified and experienced to restore it for max value, or just keep it on my list of to do projects?  I guess is the question is will the value of a restored one be equal to or greater than the average cost of a quality restoration?

I would think these machine would be few and far between and might be worth hanging onto. I'm begining to like them the more i see them. I don't know if i'll end up with this one or not. It's quite a ways from my home. The price is right but can I get my butt up off the couch and drive for a day?

I had this style machine about 10 years ago... super clean, traded a 7up 55 slider for it... Guess the guy really wanted the slider... anyway sold it on ebay for $1300.00.. again that was 10+ years ago. nice little machines.
