Title: Vendo 56 Round Top
Post by: sodaworks on May 04, 2021, 10:46:57 pm
I've got a chance to pick up a complete restorable 56 RT machine. It's in pretty decent shape. What's the value for unrestored and restored? Thx T

IMO the 56 is always a tough machine to price. Glass door multi vend crank handle machine that is tough to find. Much tougher than the 81 but never demands as much money. The large coin door on a small machine is what turns some collectors off. Personally it's one of my favorite machines, however, it needs to have the glass door if restored.

I buddy just bought a complete solid door one for 2100 and we both thought he stole it. That machine is also very tough to find as a nice original, most have to be restored. I'm guessing 2500 unrestored, restored for a quality restoration 5500-6000.

I have both an 81 and a 56.  I actually prefer the 56 over the 81 just because it is a bit different.  I think the pricing on a 56 should be essentially the same as an 81 although you will find some who only want an 81 and consider the 56 a step down.  Others, like myself will disagree.  I do think that you need to make it a glass door machine and I would also install an LED light kit in the door even though it did not have a lit door originally.  The biggest positive the 81 has over the 56, in my opinion, is the lighted bottle door cavity.
