I bought this last week, This is wood siding that came off a country store in Central Arkansas. It was painted by Coke in the 1940s and covered up in the early 1950s. The lady that I bought it from her parents bought the store in the mid 1950s and did not know it was there. In 1995 the store was torn down. They found this under the wall of a addition. Luckily she saved it and it has been stored away in her shed since 1995.

Great save Joey, we are glad that you have the room to save and display that piece of history.  Be sure to show us a picture when you get it hung.

That's is very cool.

I had the opportunity to buy the Pounce Patterns for some billboard signs at one time.. but Passed as I didn't know what I was going to do with them.

if your not familiar with pounce patterns they where patterns of these large murals with little holes along the edges of the graphics where the painter would hang them on the building, then with a chalk back , pounce it on the image along the lines.. they'd remove the pattern leaving behind the chalk outline to give them the outline to paint the billboard.

The coolest use I had seen was a guy who painted a Coca-Cola billboard similar to this on the bottom of his Swimming pool... Pretty cool but of course cant' find that photo..

Will that fit in your shop as a wall somewhere?.. That is really a nice piece of history... reminds me of the wall they had at the Coca-Cola Museum in Kentucky that closed
Schmidt (Spelling?) Muesum... anyway they had a barn wall type display like that. I would love to paint one of those on a old barn or wall....
Again great piece of history there.... Awesome! happydrinkers

Exterior wall it will be cleaned and 3 coats of semi gloss clear will be put on it to protect it.

It was already apart when I bought it but roughly 30-35 pieces.

Back in the late 70s, there was a shed by the side of the road, painted w/a Coke sign. A few years later, I saw someone dismantling it. I stopped to ask what they were going to do w/it. I was told they were going to make some kind of "craft" things with the old barn wood. Talk about desecration!! I never did like crafts.

That will make an awesome backdrop with a bunch of machine in front of it. Perfect for a gameroom.

That's really cool. I have a wood sign that came off a store with the same silhouette on it.

How do you go about removing the paint without damaging the signage?

So far all I've used is a putty knife.  The tan paint comes off fairly easy but I don't want to remove too much till I know the best way.  I was just testing a spot to see if it was still there.  I think it helps that the sign was the first thing pained on the brick.

The kid on the left in black face is kind of creepy when nobody else looks to be in costume.

A friend of mine dad was the last sign painter in rome ga and surrounding area. He retired in 1986 and took all the template with him . He has that painted on the side of his garage and it looks great . I have not had the guts to ask him but he is in his 90s now I think I need to borrow one of his template .

I had some more time to scrape today,  The building was covered with tin in the 1980's and I'm not ready to permanently remove it yet so I every time I work on it I have to remove some tin:
