Heard a story today that this was true and why a lot of the large door 81s will  be more rust free because they were keep inside the stores. you guys ever hear this?

I haven't heard that of the 81 but I know from experience that the machine easiest in my travels of round corner machines I have found as what we would call a nice original has been the Vendo 44. I believe because of it's small size that there were more of those placed in indoor locations. It's not too hard to find a nice original in a 44. IMO.

My RT V-56 shows signs of at least two break in attempts. Screwdriver attacks.
Haven't tried it but think a 50's era hand drill would make short work of the PR lock.
