I have a chance to buy a fairly nice WE 6. It is nearly complete. Cord is off so it probably needs some rewire. Not sure about the mechanism. Very straight though. A friend has told me to avoid getting involved with water machines. My other machines are dry so I guess this would be a new experience. Any advice on this little beauty? Very attractive machine.  I can pick it up for just over $100. Appreciate any advice and insight.  Trav

I'm no pro at this, but I'd buy any vintage machine that was very attractive and nearly complete for only around $100.
But that's just my addiction talking.

AH! the old "cut-cord" routine eh!? ( actually manytimes Coke did this if they sold a machine to someone as "salvage")But heck, at around $100 bucks , for a 50's machine, regardless if it's a wet or dry chest cooler, if it's in decent shape & complete, grab it & leave skid-marks going out of his driveway! (just kidding!) it 's a good deal. a WE6 is a good size chest cooler & even if you don't use the water cooling portion, it still makes a great Ice-chest for the summer patio party! call him now & tell him/her you'll pick it up tomorrow morning ( before he changes his mind)  ':O'
