Title: Vendo 44 Actuator
Post by: cyberphox on October 02, 2013, 12:50:23 pm
Finally picked up my dream Coca Cola memorabilia - a Vendo 44. Bought it locally here in Toronto and it seems to be all original parts.
Looking at the loading instructions and I'm pretty sure my actuator on the bottle rack could be seized? It says to turn it 1/4 turn 90 degrees to the right. It definitely doesn't move that much..maybe only 20 degrees. Should the rockers be moving at all cause they aren't? I don't want to put too much pressure on this thing and break it!

Welcome to the forum!  My advice would be to pull the vending stack out of the machine and clean and lube the ratcheting mechanism.  There are I think 6 bolts that hold it in, very easy job.  Spray it down with some brake cleaner and then see if you can get it turning again.

Yes, it's pretty easy to do, see the photos in the other post you wrote in for what to expect when pulling it apart

Yeah ironically I got it back in and working and then 1 hour later my can rocker conversion showed up in the mail from Fun-tronics..
Doesn't look too hard to remove and put these in...

when you install the rockers, it helps to put a little bit of lube between all the contact points. The rockers will turn much easier and when vending, the coin mech crank will be nice and smooth.

I use a lube designed for cool temps, it is actually a brake lube, works good. Ultra slick makes it.

Thanks! You guys actually aren't very far from me here in Toronto. I'll have to look into options into getting the cabinet sandblasted and painted as living in a condo doesn't actually allow for that!!!
