There is a guy constantly posting his VMC 27 without a stand or anything. The ad states.." This was one of the early vendolators which were tabletop machines and did not come with stands". Just wondering if this is true.

The stand was optional made by " Kay Display".

Were both versions of the stand made by Kay Display? Pipe stand versus enclosed stand.
Just curious.

By definition they were all the countertop variety. I think they were made that way, and then you selected which stand you wanted.
I've seen at least one sitting on a counter in an old picture.

Yes, it is a counter top version with options for 1 of 3 stands. The nicest is the pipestand, also the enclosed stand which makes the machine look like it's one piece, and then the tough to find Kay stand.

Cormy, live out in jersey and have seen this ad multiple times as well and have been asking myself the same question.  Thanks for posting it!

I've got one right now that originally came out of TX it has never been on a stand and was always used on a counter. The guy I got it from has owned it for over 40 years and remembers it from the old country store that his family shopped at.
