Pretty cool but belongs in a Dr. Pepper museum.

Yep , It's a very rare machine, [Ice cooler technically.] & keep in mind that these style coolers were really a generic & could have any "decals" applied at any point in it's early working life, so it doesn't really make it a "Dr. Pepper" machine. any more than stickering up any other cooler with a "Sprite-Boy" decal makes it a "Coke" machine.  glare

But a very rare bird to be sure in it's own right

(as a side note, I hate the word "rare" as it is applied to auctions) so when I've used it here, I mean it!  tounge

As another side note, he shouldn't be using copyrighted photos from Jeff Walters soda-machine guides to illustrate his auction, as this can get his auction yanked right when the bidding gets up there, as any bidder that gets pissed off can call him on it & Ebay WILL yank the auction.

I sent him a friendly FYI in regards to the picture he used...so unless it is THE Jeff Walters selling this Item, he/they are warned.

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!

"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

I have politely asked people copying/using SMC photo/images to reference this Site and on two occassions, Ebay has removed the actions!

There must be a couple of different configurations for The Liquid Cooler. The one in the auction is slightly different that the model displayed in the Soda Machines Section: Liquid Carbonic I cannot figure why the vending tubes are towards the back of the cooler making it difficult for patrons to acquire the product. Looking at the two images posted on SMC, the front four vending tubes are at the front of the machine... The other version listed has eight vending tubes and shows the push rod as well...

All in all, it's still a rarity as Johnie has stated!

Additionally, there is indication of possible red paint along the top front... It could be possible the cooler was acquired by a DP bottler and repainted back in the 30's...

Interesting one of these popped up...one of our forum members was by my house over the holidays and showed me his photo album of machines he has restored.  He had at least 3 Liquid Carbonic coolers like this that he has restored.  One was a Dr. Pepper that was GORGEOUS!  We talked about them for a bit, as I hadn't seen them before.  He even had copies of the photo of the Dr. Pepper booth at some event I can't remember showing a Liquid Carbonic on display.

I'm sure this one will be out of my reach, but what a cool machine to see and possibly acquire!

Very rare machine.  I have been lucky enough to own three of these as Tex mentioned.  I wish I knew how to post pictures.  I restored one in Coca Cola and it was sold to Dr. Pepper Musuem in Dublin.  The next one I restored Dr. Pepper and it went to a private (big time) Dr. Pepper collector.  The third was sold unrestored to Dr. Pepper musuem in Waco.  Seems they wanted one since Dublin had one and you can see this one in the musuem.  The bottle chutes have spring loaded brass pegs on one side that keep the bottles from backing out.  I have never seen a 6 hole design.

It's rare, but rare doesn't always mean desirable.
Personally,  I 'd pass
