We could use the bottle art from the Sunburst sign we repro'd... that is
from the 40s and it's done ready to go....

QUOTE
does the bottle and art need to be redrawn?... I could do that and the sig?

I currently have it scanned as a psd file, but haven't brought it into Illustrator to redraw/trace it...
You might be the best for this Eric...
We possibly could do the same for the title and then convert to paths to aid in keeping the original text, then get something close in the way of a font that we can use for the new names...

I don't know how anyone else feels about this, but any font
that is even remotely similar is good enough for me. On the other
hand, am in no hurry either.
Maybe you guys just like the challenge  '<img'>

I'm just one of those people that pays attention to details...

The hard part is how I'm going to recreate the typewriter depression look of the text when you print it on an inkjet printer!!! JUST KIDDIN'

And your right Glen, in the end this re-creation will be close, but not an exact duplicate which sits fine with me. I would like to make it as close to the original as possible for everyone...

Just wanted to update everyone...

I do apologize for my tardiness on this and will focus in the coming week to get this done. I'm going to consult with one of my graphics instructors tomorrow for the best course of action...

I've been spending my spare time developing some new site concepts for SMC and may be able to share a sneak peek at the end of June/early July...  I will start a new thread for input on the likes/dislikes of the elements, other than our Discussion Areas, of SMC, such as Classifieds, Auctions, Newletters, eCommerce, Banner Adverts, the Soda Machines Listings, etc, etc...
Look for this in a couple of weeks...

Thanks again for your patience!

Update on the Certificates:

I'm currently waiting for a CD of Fonts from a friend to hopefully acquire the correct font used in the title of the Repair School Certification. Once this arrives, it's only a matter of minutes to complete this task. Otherwise, I'm going to buy the font to get this behind me and everyone can enjoy there new certificate. Oh yea, I almost forgot about the three part test that I need to send to everyone that wants a certificate ! ! !  It's approximately one hundred questions that I have extracted from service manuals... (just kidding)

Which brings me to my next question, how would you like me to distribute the document...? Before we get to this though, I'll need a list of names so I can create the customized certifications; then I can distribute the file! My concern is a format that everyone will be happy with; however, I may be leaning toward PDF for this...

Open for discussion...
