I have a Cornelius Compact 50 with original compressor(1973) that needs a shot of R-12. I intend on using Freeze-12.
Question:
What should the low side reading be when it has the correct amount of  freon in it?
My son checked it yesterday and the low side reads 16 in his guage.
The COIL freezes up. Max cold output is 40 degrees' I need 28-30 degrees.
Please help. Thanks, Frank

I'd like to know the answer to this as well but I can tell you that it's NOT 25lbs  smile That's what the low reading on my Compact 50 is. Where did you get the Freeze 12?

You can get it at PEPBOYS auto stores, but you have to ask for it as they don't keep it out on the shelves, it comes in 12-oz cans, BUT the adapter that fits the top of the cans threaded top/nipple is different from a standard R134a can-tapper....other than that, you may have to poke around at 3rd-party auto stores as it's not at MURAYS. or AUTOZONE, etc. or online via Ebay...  as for evap' pressure you'd be shooting for between 25-30 PSI on the low side.

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!
The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p
Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor
11 is louder than 10...
"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Just to clarify, 25-30 while it's running correct?
