I have a bottle drum for a Vendo 39. I have had some people email me wanting to know the dimensions, etc; This one guy said he had a drum for a 39 with 3 rings. Mine has 4 rings. Could someone tell me the difference. Only thing I could think of was the 4 ring will vend or hold the 12oz. bottles. The dimensions on mine are 7 " from the back where the bottle rests to the front edge of the drum. The diameter of the holes where the bottle goes is just shy of 2 1/2" .  Thanks !     Tony

I have just had a look at my drum. It has two rings and the back plate. Are you sure that the legth inside is only 7" mine is nearer 7.5 to the back plate. My hole is also just shy of 2.5" wide. Its the original type and won't vend the larger bottles.

I've just had a look at a 39 I sold last year. That had three rings and the back plate. It was the same size drum.

First picture drum now gone.

Saecond picture Drum in current machine.

Dave has the early 39 drum.....Tony has the late model drum.
The rear plate that holds the counterweight and has notches
around the perimeter for indexing, has been reversed in the
later model allowing extra length for longer bottles.

Yes, you have a late model drum.
It will hold longnecks, etc; however, the 12 oz. Cokes do not fit (too large in diameter).
It was made for the King Size (10oz.) bottles (crown first) and the 6 1/2oz. bottles (butt first).

I tried putting a Miller Lite longneck in the drum and it would not fit, just a tad too big in diameter. Has anyone actually seen a longneck being vended from a 39 ? I know Cornhusker sign makes a repop drum. But I was wondering if anyone has ever used longnecks in an original drum. Thanks !        Tony

Try a coors light longneck, I heard it will fit.

Cornhusker's repop drum was modeled after the later style.
I don't think they are much different.
Are you sticking the Miller Light in crown first?
The holes in the back plate of the drum are smaller than the butt of the 6 1/2 oz. Coke bottles,
so they can keep the crown reachable when vended.
You are supposed to grab the bottom of the larger size bottles.
I can't believe that it is larger in diameter than a 10 oz. Coke bottle.
