Title: I did it again. Wife is not too happy
Post by: bcharlton on November 05, 2013, 10:17:21 am
Found another Seeburg jukebox.  This is a 1954 Seeburg HF100R.  Started going through is last night.  It has some issues, but it should be up and running in a couple of weeks.  My wife is thinking about "putting her foot down" so I need to buy her something that she likes pretty quick.

Any ideas?

Jewelry always seems to work, but I have found that doing that long overdue honey-do (the one that is a year or so old) works well too.

I like Larry's idea also!

My experience- My wife says is that another soda machine? I say Yes after I get caught sneaking it into garage.   She say's how much was that?  :veryangry: I reply with the standard "not much". I try explaining to her there's one difference between what you spend money on and what I spend money on. I can get my money back or make money at some point!! Try selling that closet full of shoes you have and see how much you get back....
Just so you know I never win this argument but I'm not divorced yet and I'm still alive and buying.
I would probably start with some of the other suggestion first.

Isn't that the truth!

I just say I'm not smoking it, injecting it, or popping it and when I die you can sell it. It seems to work for me.

It's better to ask for forgiveness then permission.

what's one more machine when you have a warehouse full of coin ops?  The good news is that you have a heated garage.  You can put a murphy bed in over your '32 Ford.

I'm starting to get to the number of coin ops that each one I bring in additional I ask myself "is this the one that finds me waking up with myself glued to myself".

All kidding aside, I usually hear as long as there's enough in the bank when the kids need something I'm good.

Hey Roadman,

If you would get off "the Stoner candy machine train" for one minute, you would realize that there are other things from the 1950s you can collect that are very cool.

And I'm now working on filling a second warehouse full of stuff than you very much.

Wife was out of the house over the weekend so I spent some time on Seeberg R  It came out ok.  I did not want to do complete grade one on it as the chrome alone on the Rs cost over $1000.  I polished the chrome and it came out pretty nice.  Everything works and the paint scheme is white and plumb purple. New grill cloth.   About 8 hours in total.  I always get a kick out of restorations that people have over "200" hours into.
