Title: Problem Solved
Post by: Ltransam on September 23, 2006, 10:35:22 pm
Hi ,Everyone..   :)

After Finally getting  my 69Dart back together  :D YEA!.And some other small thing done.
I started working on my C2-55-E  Selection JohnnieG got the coin mech working (Thanks Again ) I had just got the Original Service Manual (Not a Copy) Today !!

I was checking the Bulb size for the light-up Sign .I remember Collecture (Tom) Looking for the ever Evasive F7T5 Bulb .The Manual Actually call for the common F6T5.
&S-5 starter.
I have the Orginal F7T5 (11 inchs total) In my C1-55-E Single Selection (Yea) But someone  :O had replaced the one in the C2-55 .They wire tied the mounts for the bulb to the out side of the frame & used a F8T5 Bulb  (12 Inchs long )
I have replaced it with a F6T5 (9 Inchs total ) By moving in the mounts 1 5/8 inch form edge & drilled & Taped a 6-32 hole Installed everything and It WORKS !!  as good as the C1-55-E with the orginal F7T5 Bulb . Just as bright  .The Hole is close to the edge for the mounting access hole but IT's Ok . I'l post pictures in the next couple of post .
It only took 30 min & looks GREAT .Pluse you can IF (HAHA ) Find a Orginal F7T5 Bulb but it right back .
I hope this helps anyone Who is missing the orginal bulb ..

That sign looks great. I see that it reads "Enjoy that refreshing new feeling" but this machine was
before New Coke (A little knowledge is a dangerous thing) so what was the NEW that coke were hitting on at the time??

This is what comes of staying up late into the night reading history books.

Hello,Dave

You have to remember that the C1-55-E & C2-55-E  Were made in the very late 50s (1959 I beleave??) The Slogan for then & most of the 1960 Was (Enjoy the Refreshing New Feeling) Sorta like some of the ZING Poster's .
New Coke (THE BAD YEARS) was just a LAME test of a diffirent taste in the Late 70s Early 80s It DID NOT work out & was a dark time for me ! As i Beleave you brought up in a Diffirent Post Your still getting the New Coke (Wave) .I feel sorry for you .PLEASE DON'T SEND it back here .. :p
