Vendo 110 Wood

I just read brasskey's post on the 110 and had completely forgotten about the wood being in the 110.  So as not to hijack or change the topic of his post, I figured I'd post a different thread.  This information may already be buried in this site, but wanted to ask....how can one check to make sure the wood is in good shape when looking at a potential purchase of a 110 without having to take it all apart to find out?  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I am looing at one now for a friend of mine.  Thanks in advance.

The bottom is the place to focus - bottom of the bottle door & bottom of the tub. In pictures, look for missing screws, discolored wood, the paint around the tub, etc. Things will be more obvious and apparent in person.

Thanks.  Just finished looking at "Fabes'" pics of his 6-case cooler and I can see that the wood is actually visible and not completely covered up as I had assumed, having not ever seen one in person.  Unfortunately, I still have not heard from that person in Houston to even begin working an offer on the 110.  I hope they call soon though as I don't want my buddy to miss out on it.  It looks like a really nice machine.  We shall see, right?  Thanks again!

The pieces of wood on the bottom and top of the door are just plywood.  The side pieces are thick stuff.  The plywood is easily cut with a jig saw.  The side pieces for the door, as well as the pieces for the main cabinet are tough.  There are multiple cuts, chamfers,  rounds, etc.  My woodworking friend, who has done woodworking for years, said it was one of the toughest things he's ever done.

The good news is the only really bad wood I had in my 110 was the plywood.  I replaced everything, though, since my friend was able to repop them.  I did keep the old stuff in the event I (or my kids when I croak) need to make another set in the future.

I would pay special attention to the wood on the bottom by the drain tube. I just took my liner out today and the wood on the bottom was bad. Needs to be replaced.
