Title: Ideal

I have found what looks like some type of  chest type cooler. It has two bins linked together, each with it's own drain and it sits on four metal legs. The name inbossed on the side is Ideal. As David Letterman would say: "IS THIS ANYTHING?"

Hi & Welcome! You are the proud owner of an Ideal Brand double washtub! (Yes, Ideal originally made washtubs!) they are usally white in color, with one or two "tub's" with drain spigots on the bottom, they aren't insulated and are made of galvanized steel, with the bottoms of the "tubs" being rounded. allthough not a true soda-cooler, they make a neat ice-type chest for the patio, but not being insulated they will sweat mega quanitities of condensation & will drip everywere, thus I'd keep it outside :p  I don't happen to have a picture handy but here's a rough drawing of what I'm describing.

You are totally right, it looks just like your drawing. I'm disappointed, maybe it will serve as a parts washer.

Thanks
Jerry

Glad to help, hey don't be bum'd out. it still might sell on EBay
as a collectable item anyway  :) , people use these for all sorts of things like a planter, magazine holder, etc. it was used with an old washboard in case anyone was wondering, and yes my Grandma had one in her basement, right next to the old Maytag ringer/washer, she used it a lundry-tub to hold the rinse water for a second cycle, and as a pre-soak tub
for whites & bleach. (just a little history)  :D

Thanks for your input Johnie. I have owned a single tub version for years, and never knew what it really was designed for. I just liked the embossed lettering. (No galvanized metal though), this tub is all aluminum         Glen
