I'm preparing to restore a vendo 23 and was wondering how to sandblast the cabinet without damaging the compressor and condenser coils. I don't see any easy way to remove the compressor from the cabinet so I assume it will have to stay in place. Any ideas?

Thanks
Eric

Eric,

WELCOME BACK!!  You can remove the cooling unit from a Vendo 23.  It comes out the back.  If you log in to the home page of this site and go to the downloads section, there is a Vendo 23 manual.  It should tell you in there how to do it.  From what I remember, there is an access panel on the back of the machine.  You also need to take off the top lid.  Then, you pull out the honeycomb bottle basket.  The evap coil is attached to the tub the bottle basket sits in.  Then, you should be able to lift everything out of the back (evap coil and tub over the top) as an assembly.

Good to hear from you!!!!

Well thanks guys!!! I know it has been awhile and it's good to be back. Without going into a lot of details, life took a few wierd turns that took me away from this hobby for awhile but I'm back...retired from the Navy...and now managing operations at two wind farms in Iowa. Now I have time to get back into coke machines.

Dave, I still have your Bobby. It has a distinct place of honor in my war room. I love telling how we met through this site and traded hats. I hope everything has been well with you and your family. Do you still have that V39?

Wayne,
I couldn't locate the download section. Can you point me in right direction?

Jim,
I can log in to the discussion area but cannot log in on the home page. Are they two separate accounts? Do I need to set up a new account for the home page log in? My account has been stagnant for several years. I was actually surprised that my log in still worked for the discussion area.
