Well on my rounds today, Dudes take a look at what I found! not 1, not 2 but at least 6, yes 6 vendo V210 Ice Cream vendors, all in working condition, & also with a crates of spare parts!  ( coin-doors, coin-mechs by the milk crate full, main doors & even the "ammo-belts" that convert them over to  vending "cones" instead of flat bars & sandwiches) hoo! hoo! pinch me I'm dreaming!, the 'gent who owns these is only asking $600.00/ea. & he'll throw in  boxes old parts ta-boot, not to mention he has a crate-full of Coinco changers & some MARS units too, he & his dad use to stock the Big-4's
(GM/Parckard, Ford, Chrysler, & AMC) vending "banks" (the big row of vending machines in the auto plants)as he called them for canteen corp as a sub-contractor...man what a gold mine! but he's retired now & into his 60's autos... so any interest? or need I ask... ':O'

Cool!
That first one has the same exact selection buttons as my 1957 V-216MD (see my photo):

'Kito, that's the first thing I thought of to when I saw the automatic style machines, I wonder if the 3-flavor Pre-select model (that's what he called the earlier model) "select-a matic" style control/coin door  could be adapted back onto a V216 MD machine?  '<img'>  hmmm. of course there isn't any bottle opener on the Ice Cream vendor though...just a though!

Wow,  It's amazing what you can pull out of the woodwork around here.  Very cool find.  Do not know why I would need one of those but I trying to think of a reason.

Well think how cool it would be to have one on the deck & pull a nice drum-stick cone out of on a hot day! or those frozen snicker-bars & such! & here's another reason maybe to justify it, he emailed me & said he's found some of the original light-up fronts that where an accessory on these machines, they are plexiglass signs that have identicle graphics that look like the tin ones on the machines now, but they mount in their place on the front of the machine & have three "arrows" that point down over the door to indicate what flavor it is. gotta go back & get some more pictures!  '<img'>

I'll contact you via email, Brian..I'm definetly getting one! think I like the three-button autoselect the most, the coindoor is the only difference between the two models, he said he can replace any broken doors, knobs, etc.  goodness knows he has enough spare parts!  ''

Ha! funny guy!  ':p'  he's using his dads old service warehouse for his hobby of classic auto repair, basically the place looks like a muffler shop! it has thousands ( not kidding either) of mufflers, pipes, & exhaust/chassis components, all OEM/Walker brand for 50's & 60's classic cars, he even has a dual exhaust system with mufflers & resonators that'll fit my '59 ElCamino!, so he's ready to clear out all of the old Vendo Ice Cream machines to make more room for his cars, they are currently occuping a service bay area & old walk-in freezer that used to service & stock the vending trucks, he also showed my a couple of  70's Rock-Ola soda-machines, the kind that have the plastic windows that hold a display can of soda to show what each selection is...& a 80's Vendo/Coke and some of those glass-front "drop" type candy machines, he's literally got a pallet full of old Coinco coinmechs & boxes of MARS coinmechs too!  & he's going to put together a "care" package of spare parts to go along with the Vendo Ice Cream machines he's selling to me & another SMC member & friend, after he get's his engine dropped back into a '64 Oldsmobile thats blocking the way to the Vendo's ( he's also got a sweet '63 Impalla SS/hardtop!

Yea, I've seen that "spin-top" vendo ice cream vendor around a few times on Ebay up for auction, the only other machine that I see is a Late-model National 3-door machine with a DBA, & he has a bunch of late model Ice Cream machines like that too, if anyone wants to be hooked up with one..I've seen a few milk vendors & even a hot food vendor go by on Ebay over , oh-about the last two years or so, but I've never seen any Vendo Ice Cream vendors of this model & era

update on this consuming project, Sucesss! we ( myself, Brian & his buddy Joe) now have three machines in my possession! what a chore loading them up though, me & a buddy had to help this guy shove a dead car out of the way from between to buildings & back up a trailer down this narrow alley-way, the guy didn't want to move it (car) & a clunker of a delivery truck out of the way until he saw green ($$$) two have the lightup signs & we (I) have boxes of spare parts to sort through & divide up...all three run (freeze) just fine..more later!

Well I finally got some time to get these puppys off the trailer & clean them up a bit before shipping them to VMC117BMB (Brian) the model no. is listed as a Vendo DC-V210-D, they all freeze just fine! & I'm posting some show & tell pictures of one of the light-up models (Brians) the one back on the trailer is his buddy's, (the sign has been pulled off for shipping in a seperate box) all three are the "post-select) automatic, seems to share a lot of the same parts as it's soda machine cousin, coin door,(sans the bottle opener!) coin bezel, selector button assy, & bezel, sold out lamp assy...anyway here are the pictures..enjoy..and yes they are very heavy!  ':O'

Her's the back of the main door showing the rear of the vending chutes, & the empty switches alongside of them, the three little switches down near the right side are for loading the machine, if you turn them "on" the belts cycle continuously so you can load them up! one per column/belt..the vending chutes are supossed ot light up when you select that buttons flavor, I have yet to figure out how to get the lamps changed..

and the ID Tag...here's an interesting note, the last city tax id tag on the machine read, Dearborn, MI/DEC.1990...the last time that these old machines were still in service! there's another tax ID on one of th etin signs that reads...Macomb county, vending machine, dated 1955......kinda adds to the history...Ok. I'm done for now with pictures..hope you all have a great weekend!

No no,  there is a locked metal cover for it...that slides down over the mech area, you can see the bottom tray for it in the 'Pic., just wanted to show the "guts"..besides being a finger-chrusher, if you pick up on any of the three solenoid's "T" arm..the machine will "free-vend"..so it's got a locking cover..( If only I knew about this when I was a kid!  ':p' )

So are these keepers or do you plan to restore and resell?

I can't speak for Brian or his buddy, but I'm still jazzin' on the fact that I have at least one machine that even Jeff Walters couldn't find!  I've already torn down my machine twice & put it back together...just to understand the vending cycle & mechanics of the 'critter.. if you're  inclined, he's ( the seller I got these three from) only has two complete round corner machines left...& he wondered if I was going to want them too! ( Yes my wife would kill me!)  '<img'>

DUDE!!!!!!!! I am so STOKED!!!!! Those machines look so awesome Johnie!!!! Man.....I can't wait....Oh yeah, I'll speak for the both of us (Brian/Joe) You rock Johnie!! '<img'>

Let me know the specifics about the shipping. I thought I would be making the drive to Edinburgh, IN anytime in the near future (FedEx Freight Depot) but this is definitely worth it!!

Oh yeah, what are the exact dimensions of these beasties, Johnie? I was guessing around 79" tall and around 450 LBS.

Those pictures are great!! Here's too you Johnie!!  ':drinkers:'  '<img'>

johnieG,
In the piles of spare parts, do you have any of the rectangular clear plastic windows for the three selections just to left of the three selection bottons on the coin doors?

As you know those coin doors are nearly identical to the red coin door on my V-216MD machine.
Because each of my three plastic windows have cracks in them, I just thought I'd see if you had nice looking extras you'd be willing to sell me.

Thanks either way.

I'll check to see what he gave us, I'm still sorting through it all to divide up between the three machines..I think I found one that is cracked in half ( 2/3rds-1/3rd) but the windows that fit into the bezel are OK..could be superglued together & the seam would be hidden behind it (the bezel)...

What are you going to do with the tin signs?

the parts & tin signs are slated to be divide up between the three machines...there are three signs, two are in decent shape & will ship with Brians & his buddy Joes machines       (the third I'm going to take to my sign guy & try to have repro'd) I'm trying to supply each machines owner with a set of spare parts...any extra may be available later...as I purchased some extra stuff myself..like all those coin entry bezels...have to be fair, because spare parts are even harder to come by than the machines themselves! fortunalty all three were removed from service in working order & are complete otherwise...

Johnie - the machines are awesme.  Especially like all the gears and belts.  But I got to tell, I'm guessing that when  you're done looking at the parts kit you're going to find many, many more gems.  For fun, when any of you guys get the machines running, put a meter on them and let us know just how much juice they suck on a hot summer day '<img'>
