On a recent trip to West Virginia came across this roadside museum it was next to someones farmhouse knowone was around at the time so was not able to see inside. Looks likes someones personal collection thought it was interesting enough to share.

Nice old place! Wonder if the guy would sell any of those signs?

That's great... Wish I could find places like that when I drive around.

Must be a fantastic place to live. Anything like that anywhere near me wouldbe striped within a couple of hours.

Some of those signs are big money and isn't that one of those ECO air thingys on the side.

Cool.  I'd be afraid to leave some of those things just "sitting out" like that.

It sure would be great if we could all have displays like this,to show our collections and not have to worry about it being ripped off...

I love the old pumps and signs as well If this were near where I live it wouldn't last long. This was over a 5 hour drive from my house. There was alot more stuff I saw along the way plenty of old gas pumps and signs. Tried to take as many back roads as I could.

I bet it would be hard to leave there with anything without paying.  I have an old friend  near me that has a bunch of stuff out like that and if he's not there..... he's watching !

It is a shame that we can't feel comfortable displaying stuff outside.  I'm into signs and have several but they are all inside and I'm out in the country !

Those trips are the stuff this hobby is built on ! ! !
My philosophy has always been that the best part of collecting is getting out into all the nooks and crannies of the country-side and dig this stuff up ! ! !
With a little luck(and cash), you'll bring stuff home...

Thanks for sharing ! ! !

It's 90% Luck, and just taking the time to take the road less traveled... it's soo hard though as there are so many people looking for stuff... I ran across that old Standard Oil Sign still standing a few months back out in the sticks.. i posted it on old gas, thinking wow I found something... and  I got 3-4 photos back of the same sign that others have seen, asked about, tried to buy,etc....
Still fun though! '<img'>

I hope Jasman sees these pictures. She has an opportunity to set up her new store and make it look old like this...... an old fashioned bakery house!   ':<img:'>

I like that old awning! I'm thinking it would look good over my shop door. Gotta find one.
