I was asked by another member to post some pics of my Seeburg R. I'm doing a full restore on it. Basicly down to just waiting on the chrome to get back and some small things. Then its final assembly!! Note the stupid j model grille conversion will be returned back to the correct  .Here is a link to the photo album.   http://s373.photobucket.com/albums/oo174/countdownpin/Seeburg%20R/

Great job  Johnny.

Are you getting every re chromed?  That is a lot of work.  Can you let me know how much that costs you?  Thanks for the pictures.  I enjoy jukeboxes almost as much as soda machines.

That is going to turn out great.  Did you restore the mech yourself or send it out?

Everything that was chrome is getting rechromed. The anodized aluminum dome frame and title strip holder I stripped and polished. Thought about having them chromed but I'm so afraid if the chrome chipping when bolted together. The price of chrome was ridiculous. He first quoted $1800 that's not including the waterfalls as I bought them new from Victory Glass. I did get him down to $1200. They mostly do show car concours quality chrome and i agreed that if there was a minute flaw in a low/no visibility area that would be OK for the price break. If anyone has any recent jukebox chroming done please post price/quality.

Marvin, I did the mech myself but can't take the credit. It was simply cleaned and relubed. This whole box was actualy a diamond in the rough. Even the amp and reciever have their original finishes.

Johnny
I always use Victor at Courtesy Plating. I'd rate his work an 8+ out of 10. I've used lots of Platers and Polishers in NJ,PA,TN,TX, and IL. I'd give them the best value for the money overall. But, I must say, Platers now go by some kind of book value with certain jobs like bumpers. So alot of thier prices come closer on that kind of stuff.

Wow! I have been working on my jukebox for the past couple of weeks and I have to admit. It's beyond my capabilities. I am getting nowhere.

Now seeing yours and what you have done. That's just amazing. It looks new. I I definitely recognize the talent you have.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and i look forward to seeing pictures of the completed project.

Thnsk for the compliments guys. Here's a a few more pics of today progress. Pretty much done except for the dome glass. When I picked up the chrome it looked so good I left them the dome frame to be re-anodized.It will probably be 3-4 weeks before getting it back. This is my first full blown juke restore and boy they are much more involved/costly than drink machines.

Couple questions...
How did you get the multi-color effect down in front where the speakers are?
My R has a light blue flourescent 4 ft bulb behind the selection panel.
What kind of logo/decal/plate goes on the record cover? Mine looks like something
was there but removed leaving damage (roughness). I don't know what was
there.
Thanks.

Pbdude--if you look at the last batch of pictures posted by johnny you will see the multicolor diffuser in the first picture.  It mounts below the light  above the grille.  You can probably get that from Victory Glass.  The one for my Seeburg Model 161 is blue and white.  That extra color really makes the waterfall chrome on the front of that R really pop!

Pinballdude, The correct diffusor for a R is all blue  but I like the multicolor so I put a J diffusor in. It is a direct fit. like mznb1u said you can get it Victory Glass. The mech cover should have a big emblem. If  you go back to my first post there is a link to my photo album. there should be a good pic in there. You can also get them from VG although they are not excact to original.
