I have one and they are fun to play.  Just like the game "Operation," you touch the sides and BUZZZZZZZ you lose.  I actually do better when I'm drinking.  That's the original  5c machine.  Mine is yellow and is a 25c machine.  These games sometimes came with a stand, but I'd say 95% were just used for counter tops.

Now we have another reason to drink...try the Booz Barometer, have a drink, try the BB again, have a drink...
or we could all go back to playing "Hi Bob" with the Newhart reruns or quarters or...??

I'd modify it to  give a shock back through the wand if the rail is touched.
But i'm in that kind of mood  veryangry

Tom,
Had to Laugh about "Hi Bob" watching newhart... brought back some memories..

for those that are not the drinkers.. there is a football version of this as well.. it's called Runback or something like that.. the wand is the player and you have to see how far down the feild you can make it.. same manufacturer, just different theme.

One of my favorite bars on the NJ shore had one.
Great fun watching the drunks just trying to get a coin in the slot :-)
On my list as well.

Here's my Booze-O-Meter. The cabinet is made of plastic and the coin slot is on top. I bought it at a flea market. The seller wanted 12 bucks. I got him down to 8.

I pulled my Booze barometer out last weekend when we had a party and it was a big hit with the drunkards and the sober people.  I made it all the way forwards and backwards non stop.  That was after about six beers.  Most people couldn't get half way.

Tom,

Not sure of the size, but it is wide.  The web site I listed show the dimensions as follows....  18"x18"x4"

so there is one of these for sale locally and I am on the verge of buying it.  The owner says in his ad needs a new battery.  Can any of you on here who own one of these please tell me how they are powered.  I assumed they were a plug in but he has me wondering now.

Thanks

Mine takes a lantern battery, but you could retrofit it to accept most any battery.

So I went and picked it up, here are some pics.  It is a little rough but it was real close and well priced.  Can the experts let me know if anything is missing, I assume there was something to catch the nickels?  Anything else?

Thanks

Cool machine.  There was a guy named Shaky Jake Woods who was a fixture on the streets of Ann Arbor from the late 60's until his death in 2007.  He was an interesting guy and loved by all.  The name of that machine made me think of him.  I may need to track one of those down now!

For those from the area, maybe you had one of his bumper stickers on your car "I Brake for Jake".
