Ideal 55 Slider Rack Powdercoating

Really?  the melting point of Pure Aluminum is listed at 1220.666 °F, while the curing temperature/time of a typical powder coating film I found listed at 200°C (390°F) for 10 minutes

I would't think powdercoat would stick to aluminium because of the need of an electric current.

In powder-coating the "paint" is "Thrown" onto the object via a static electric charge from the "gun" to the object to be painted, not a fixed running electric "current" ( as in the E-coat paint system, where items are immersed  in a tank with an anode & the object to be painted is the Cathode similar to electroplating.) it would work fine regardless as Aluminum is a metal & the third best conductor of electricity next to Copper & Silver.

I powder coated my rack and flapper on my orange crush slider and never had a problem.

Thanks for the info guys.  My next question was going to be about the flapper as I had remembered reading that elsewhere in another topic about not powdercoating it with the rack.  But I guess the consensus is that it is OK.

I don't know what I was thinking. I guess my brain went numb after all they did use aluminum wire in mobile homes years ago. Sorry about that.

For you guys that have done this powdercoating or had it done -- what color do you use for the rack, and what type of finish (flat, semi-gloss, gloss, metallic,etc)?  What have you found looks best?
