Hello,

Thanks to everyone for all the past help.  I was riding around a few weekends ago and I saw a Pepsi machine in a yard sale.  I stopped to take a look and the sign on the machine said “FREE”.  So we quickly loaded it into the truck.  The tag says Choice Vend CVB-106-5, and I can make out a date of 1964.  It came with the key.  The guy said it worked perfectly.  Once we were home, we unloaded it and plugged it in and it cools and vends.  The lights are missing so I do not know if it lights up.  I plan on cleaning it up and trying it out for a while.  I have a few questions.  Will I damage anything inside if I start by hosing it out?    Is it supposed to have that wood grain contact paper on the front, or should it be Pepsi blue?  Can I set it to vend sodas for free?  Should it cycle on and off or does it run all the time?

I see in the soda machines section this model as a Coke machine.  Will I be able to find the light up section to convert this to a Coke Machine?

Thanks for any and all comments.,
David

You can't beat FREE! Nice Score!... A little elbow grease and a heat gun to take that wood grain stuff off... paint it blue and keep it Pepsi... Cool sign...
Perfect for when the gang comes over!..... Is that cans or for bottles?

Hey

Nice machine.

I have a few more of the $8 CV manuels in my drawer if you want one let me know.  Plus I have a bunch of CV parts from the machine I parted out.

Washing it out would be alright as long as you stay away from the electrical stuff in the door.  Check to make sure the upper fan motors are working. I went down this road last fall so I can help.

I think mine was bigger than yours  '<img'>

Looks goods! It would be good to take the inside out and clean it up and get rid of the rust in the bottom. I vote leave it blue, thats probably the way it came, minus the woodgrain. Yes you can make it to free vend, and it is supposed to cycle on and off. Good luck.

Thanks guys,

If I have any free time this weekend, I am going to try to clean it up, and fill it with cans and see what happens.

Isn't this the machine that punctures the first few cans, if not loaded properly?

Hi,

The car in the background is a 59 Chevy 2 door Biscayne.  Pulled it out of a local junk yard.  Body is solid except for the rear floor area.  Took about a week to drop in a 348 and get running and driving.

THANKS

Well, I like the picture of that sign with the Pepsi machine in the background. It belongs in our SMC scrapbook  '<img'>
