I was wondering if anyone has.

Like a VMC-81 transitional Pepsi or 7up machine that is embossed.  Just thinking aloud again  biggrin

I'd believe there may be few, but keep in mind that the transitional style was the move away from embossed/dedicated flavor/brand machines of the 50's to the more modern illuminated marquee type machines that could be made for any brand of soda/beverage.

I've only seen the Barq's and 7UP as well. Brian (Seven181) had the 7UP - believe he got it out of Palm Springs.

I have a embossed 7up transitional machine.  I found it odd though that the embossed logo is covered with a 7up sticker.  The embossed is the Red, white, and green with bubbles style.  The sticker is all red with white.  Electric vend if that helps...

What parts on the transitional machines will fit a vendo 81D? I know the coin door will work but what about the coin changer, bottle rack and such? I have a couple of machines that need some bottle shelves and small parts. Might be cheaper to pick up one of these machines for parts. Just curious.

Almost all of the parts for the transitional machine are interchangeable. The bottle door is the same as the VMC 81 and will fit the Vendo but it does not have the hole for the medallion but it can be cut out. The stack is the same and so are the shelves. The coin mech is the same as is the sold out flag and linkage. The cooling system line is on the opposite side as the RT, the light bar is the same on some and for some reason some do not fit. Other than that they are the same. Just so you know i attached a picture of another type of transitional machine that the parts are the same as The RT. This type square top 81 generally can be bought rather cheap.

one part that is not interchangeable though is the light bar from a square top 81 to a round top.. it's Deeper.. as the main doors are deeper on Square top 81's than the round top 81's.. just and FYI

Also the sold out flag IS different and will not work on a roundtop machine.
