Title: Ballast super nova.
Post by: Creighton on May 09, 2006, 09:02:47 pm
Hi All,
Received some Cav light up sign parts today and the ballast had toasted itself pretty good. What is in the black residue and more important anybody know of a good cleaning solution to use.
Thanks in advance!!
Creighton

Hey there Creighton, can you drop a photo of what went up in smoke
I may have some extra light part's. And what needs to be cleaned
 the machine or other.

Be careful, some of the older ballasts had PCBs in them.  If it is a liquid that has leaked out and dried up...don't handle it with your bare hands.  Laquer thinner will clean it up.
