Title: National slug rejector vendo 56a (rt)
Post by: Creighton on April 04, 2002, 08:51:45 pm
Hello,

Nice board Jim!! Just received a slug rejector and crank handle for my v56. All coins either hang or pass through to the coin return. Rejector and coin acceptor mech could use a good cleaning. The resto manual I have states hot water/soap and lube the non coin path parts of the rejector with graphite.

Concerned the water and soap residue will lead to dirt buildup. Is there a better way? Any resources out there to help sort out these types of issues?

Despite valiant efforts just can't figure out how to get the crank handle to pivot so the coin door can be opened. I get about an inch of travel when pushing down. If the shakey memory serves it should go twice that with a correct coinage feeding. Thanks much for any help. Can post detail pictures if this would help.

Best regards,
Creighton

Thanks for stopping by!

As for the cleaning of the coin mech, hot soapy water works good. Just let it soak for while in the hot water, then I scrub mine with an old toothbrush to get into the nooks and crannies. Then just sit the mech in the sun to dry or if you have the ability, blow it out with compressed air from a compressor.
To get the coin door open, turn the crank handle counter-clockwise until it's horizontal and will allow the coin door to open by passing through the rectangular cutout... That's it! ;)

Thanks Jim,

Great response time. Will give the coin mech parts a hot shampoo and blow dry and go from there.

Per the crank handle she no wanna move counter-clockwise.
It seems to lock against something. May just be accumulated crud.

Is there anyway to tell what the coin mech. is set at? Have pondered the charts I have and sadly the reproduction quaility is such that it remains extremely unclear.

Thanks again,
Creighton
