Just finished the WD-5 and the top in front doesn't go all the down in the front .  I doubled up on the 5 inch spacers in the back hinges and thought that by raising up the back, it would allow the front to lay flush.  Has anyone ever had this issue?  It is not hitting the inside gasket so I am at a loss.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Other than that, it turned out pretty nice

The lid gasket is supposed to fit inside of the body gasket - not on top of it.
Here is a pic of mine - hard to snap a pic of black, but maybe it will help

Thanks Collecture,

The lid gasket fits inside the bosy gasket as it should so it is making a good seal but the lid is still not seating well when it closes at the handle.   I think it is the hinge but I'm not sure.

I did a Westy WD-10 and a similar issue.  I noticed with a little bit of effort I could get it to close.  I left is closed for a few days and it helped work the new rubber in place a little but.  I'm not sure with the new rubber gaskets if it's normal for them to be a bit snug?

That looks great, congrats.

Agree just expanded gasket. Close and some weight on top then should be fine.

I found the culprit.  There are 3 sets of spacers (not 2) that need to be fitted over the rear hinge plate.  I only had 2 sets installed and could not believe I was supposed  to stack 3 of these spacers on top of each other.  Well, it worked great and now I know for future references.

I am very happy with it.  I tested the new compresser and it cooled down to 34 degrees last night.
