I just purchased this cooler for 150.00. It is in great condition and only has surface rust. I would like to find out if this was a good deal and I would also like any info that someone may have regarding this cooler. I'm new to the hobby and I'm excited to be on this forum.

Neat brand... end pannels are worth that... kinda big.. but would make a great patio cooler.
Welcome! You gonna restore it?

For $150 I think you did ok. Like Eric mentioned, those end panels make it worth the purchase price alone.

The big question is the logo embossed or just painted on? If its embossed Barq's then you did great!

Thanks for the feedback. The cooler is embossed on both sides and I do plan to do a partial restoration... just enough to cool drinks under my patio....don't know if I want to do a full restoraton. Heres a couple of pics from when I got it home.

I have wanted this thing since 1995. It was located in a old gas station that was closed down in 1988. I bought a Gulf oil rack from the owner in 95 and that when I spotted it. My wife finally gave me the green light. thanks for all the feedback.

Nice cooler.Likely quite rare. It's interesting that it was still there after all those years, since 1995,and obviously before that.I would have never lasted that long.

Awesome Cooler, Congrats ! ! !
I usually don't complain about much here at SMC, but as an avid skateboarder, I hope the boards were not damaged ! ! !

I know, I need to get some casters but after trying to move it by myself a couple of times I had to have something to help me. Good thing is they are cheap skateboards. LOL
