I finally got my first machine!!!!  Thanks to all of the advice on the board, I pulled the trigger on a nice clean V-44 that I found locally.  The machine is rust free, but it's pretty gummed up from what appears to be grease and not being used for close to 20 years.

I've read all of the posts about cleaning the slug rejector in the dishwasher or boiling water.  I  ran it through the dishwasher, and it is now working great.  My question is: Should I also run the coin mechanism through the dishwasher?  I can't get the crank handle to turn and it looks like there is a lot of dried up grease inside the mechanism.  If the water treatment is the best course of action: Should I spray it down with some sort of de-greaser first?
